It’s Official!
This is us, celebrating the approval of our nonprofit status for Tending Place. 9 months of dreaming and praying for you has happened in this space.
Dear friends,
After nine months of patient waiting—a season quiet gestation—we are grateful to share that Tending Place has officially received our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status!
Nine months. Long enough to continue to learn the discipline of hope. Long enough to practice what we preach about slowing down, trusting the process, and tending what cannot be rushed. Long enough to wrestle with the unknowns and ask lots of hard questions. Long enough to dream about seeing YOU at Tending Place. Months ago, you took our survey and you spoke up—you named those pain-points, your places of struggle, those places of longing and need, and friend—those sacred echoes are the very fabric of the original dream of Tending Place. You echoed our own longings as we’ve been quietly carrying this vision.
From the beginning of this dream, Tending Place has existed to create sacred space—a gathering house where you can step out of the hurry and discover the deep well of life with Christ. Tending Place is a place where beauty, art, scripture, and ancient practices become doorways to healing, restoration, hope—it’s a place where you are tended, creativity is welcomed, and communion with God is cultivated.
This is more than a legal milestone. This means we can continue this work with greater sustainability. It means your donations will be tax-deductible. It means we can offer scholarships, expand our retreat offerings, and ensure that Tending Place remains accessible to all who long for deeper formation. Friends, this is HUGE!
When we received this news, we knew that it's a confirmation—a quiet affirmation that this work matters. That creating space for souls to breathe, pray, and create alongside the Creator is holy work worth waiting for and worth protecting.
We are deeply grateful to each of you who have supported this vision so far. Through prayer, and encouragement, you have held this dream with us for these last 9 months. Tending Place exists because of a community that believes the inner life matters.
As we step into this new chapter, we invite you to continue tending with us. Pray with us as we begin looking for an actual physical home for Tending Plcae. Pray that God would steer us in His direction as we discern where to put down roots in the Columbus area, and who to partner with in the layers of work that are still ahead. And if you feel called, consider becoming a monthly supporter of this sacred work. We can’t wait to invite you in!
The door is opening to you. The table is being set.
With gratitude and hope,
